There must be many tour companies in Canada offering trips to Japan. However, finding one that matches your needs may not be that easy if you are a consumer with good flair who demands high quality.
Most tour companies outside Japan selling trips to Japan are in fact middlemen or distributors acting on behalf of Japanese suppliers. In other words, the tours are put together by Japanese suppliers because the overseas sellers do not have the confidence to do this themselves due to lack of expertise. The middlemen who spend lots of money on advertising simply mark up the supplier’s price quote and then present the tour packages to Canadian consumers.
There are two problems with this approach. First, the seller contributes little to the process in terms of expertise or intellectual input; it is solely dependent on the local supplier. Second, the cost to the end user is inflated because the Japanese packager, the overseas middleman and the middleman’s agents all have to make money.
So, how does Laurus Travel operate its Japan tours?
Our process is much streamlined and way more cost-effective. We contract the local hotels, bus companies and tour guides directly – having Japanese-speaking staff definitely helps. Over the years, we have acquired enormous first-hand experiences through extensive travels across Japan and along the way have established lots of useful contacts in the country, from Hokkaido to Okinawa. We design all of our Japan tours in house and are confident that we can do better than our Japanese peers due to our deep understanding of Canadian consumers.
In short, not only is our price competitive but our tour packages make more sense to well-informed middle-class consumers in Canada. Please check out our list of Japan tours and let us know what you think.
Happy travels!
